Just Normlicht

Prestia Consulting is the western U.S. Manufacturer's Representative for Just Normlicht Inc. Lou Prestia is responsible for Just Normlicht business development and customer support in this territory.

Just Normlicht is the global standard in ISO-compliant color viewing lighting for graphic arts, packaging, textile, and industrial manufacturing. Their product line covers D50 lighting for graphic arts and print, D65 lighting for textile and industrial manufacturing, and multi-illuminant configurations for applications that require both standards.

Digital Light Systems (DLS)

Just's patented Digital Light System (DLS) technology is the industry benchmark for LED-based color evaluation lighting. DLS luminaires deliver precise D50 and D65 chromaticity, exceptional spectral quality, and long-term stability — significantly exceeding the requirements of ISO 3664 and ISO 3668.

  • 50,000-hour rated life — no lamp replacement ever required
  • Lower power consumption than fluorescent luminaires of the same size
  • Can be recalibrated in the field to maintain ISO compliance over the product's full lifetime
  • Instant-on at full, stable output — fluorescent systems require 15–20 minutes of warm-up to reach thermal equilibrium and provide accurate, repeatable color; DLS is ready the moment you switch it on
  • Continuously dimmable without color temperature shift — for soft proofing and for matching ISO 3664:2025 illumination conditions P3 and P4

Note: most LED systems achieve dimming through pulse width modulation (PWM) — rapidly switching the LED on and off to reduce apparent brightness — which introduces flicker that is undetectable to the human eye yet can cause eye strain, headaches, and other health effects with prolonged exposure. Just Normlicht DLS uses true analog dimming, eliminating flicker entirely.

  • Glare- and reflection-free illumination via prismatic diffuser
  • D50 and D65 switchable in a single luminaire; UV component independently switchable for compliance with ISO 3664:2025 illumination conditions P2 and P4
  • USB / LightTalk interface for soft proofing integration to match display illuminance
  • Fully compliant under ISO 3664:2025 (D50) and ISO 3668:2017 (D65)
